Every pharmacy has its own rhythm. From how the day begins to how the team connects, each workplace builds its own traditions over time—habits and rituals that create familiarity, comfort, and unity.
As a locum pharmacist, it's easy to feel like an outsider stepping into that environment. But when you're open to absorbing what makes each team special, you don’t just adapt—you belong. That’s a big part of what makes our approach different.

The Castletown Connection
One of the most memorable experiences I’ve had recently was at Infinity Pharmacy Castletown. Each morning began not with a rush of scripts, but with a moment of connection: a shared coffee, laughter, and a Nutella Fishy.

(yes, that’s exactly as delicious as it sounds!).
We’d sit together—even if only for ten minutes—and chat about what we wanted to achieve for the day. It was simple, but powerful. That quiet morning check-in turned into a shared sense of purpose and a reminder that we weren’t just coworkers—we were a team.
The day didn’t stop with work either. We often had small, fun events like themed morning teas or foodie chats in between patients. It might have been as small as sharing a recipe or surprising the team with a new snack, but those moments built real bonds.
Why This Matters in Locum Work
As a locum, you walk into a new environment—and the temptation might be to stay on the edges. But when you lean in, respect existing traditions, and participate in the culture that’s already there, you add value in a way that no resume can describe.
At Castletown, I wasn’t just filling a roster—I was contributing to a workplace vibe that was already thriving. In turn, I took that inspiration with me to future placements.
Our Philosophy: Fit In, Lift Up
What separates us as locum pharmacists isn’t just our clinical skill—it’s our ability to connect. We:
Respect and adapt to each pharmacy’s unique traditions and culture
Participate actively, whether it’s morning teas, team huddles, or inside jokes
Support workplace wellbeing, knowing that a happy team leads to better patient care
Bring joy, not just productivity—because people remember how you made them feel
Every pharmacy is different, and that’s something to celebrate. Whether it’s Nutella Fishy's at Castletown or community BBQs in the bush, we believe that joining a team means really joining it—sharing in their daily rituals, contributing to their goals, and having a few laughs along the way.
Because when we bring people together, even the smallest moments become something meaningful.
